Orpheum Theater Auditorium
Summary: Thanks in part to the generous contribution of the Bruce Crammer Estate, the Orpehum Theater is being restored to it past beauty. This 600+ seat Rapp & Rapp Theater built in 1914 has not had a major upgrade since Kerasota Theaters stopped showing films in 1986. The theater was saves from the wrecking ball thanks to P.A.C.A and the City of Champaign. The Theater is currently serving as home to the Orpheum Children’s Science Center. When complete the entire auditorium will be restored. Future phases include new heating and cooling systems, flooring, and the stage.
