Orpheum Children’s Science Museum

Orpheum Children's MuseumIn 1989 the Preservation and Conservation Association began its campaign to preserve the theater that currently houses The Orpheum Museum. In 1994 it was purchased by The Discovery Place, Inc which then turned it into a hands-on science demonstration museum and opened the doors on December 27, 1994. Here children can take part in any of the numerous projects and events like Weekend Wizards, a fun packed Saturday of games and activities. Schools and groups of a variety ages are welcome to take part in field trips, after school events, and even birthday parties. Champaign County Historical Museum

The mission of the Champaign County Historical Museum is to discover, collect, preserve, exhibit, study, and interpret objects relating to the history of the County, and to provide educational programs about the County’s heritage and the Museum’s collections.   They use the county’s artifacts in formal and informal educational   activities, to interpret that history to the public.Champaign Historical Museum

The Conservatory of Central Illinois

Conservatory of Central Illinois

The Conservatory of Central Illinois is the only nonprofit community music school serving downstate Illinois. The Conservatory located at 113 South Walnut Street is a leading cultural institution contributing to the quality of life in Champaign-Urbana. Springer Cultural Center

Located in the heart of downtown Champaign, the Springer Cultural Center offers cultural, recreational, and educational programs for all ages as well as workshops, lectures, exhibits, and performances. The stately Springer Cultural Center provides the perfect setting for parties, meetings, conferences, luncheons, demonstrations, and receptions. Indi Go Artist Co-Op

Indi Go

Located at 9 East University Ave, Indi Go provides a space for new artists in the local community and from the University to showcase their talent, volunteer to help out the artist community, hold non for profit fundraising activities, as well as meet other artists in the area. Check out this new downtown hot-spot for all it has to offer!

University of Illinois Art + Design Gallery

Opening this September, the University of Illinois will be launching a new gallery next to Cakes on Walnut at the location of Old Main Book Store. A staff member of the University will head the program, but a student board will run the galleries operations. For more information, check out our article.
