Prompting Theater and Orpheum Children’s Science Museum present: Haunted House IX: Mystery of the Asylum
Behind the Museum Experience a unique Haunted House, part spookhouse, part interactive theater. Discover the mystery of an insane asylum recently discovered during the restoration of the Orpheum Theater. Designed by the brilliant minds of the Prompting Theater, hosted by the creative folks at the Orpheum Children’s Science Museum, ran by the awesome people who like to scare you!
HOURS OPEN: Tuesday, Oct 27 6 – 10 pm
Wednesday, Oct 28 6 – 10 pm (also 10:30 am to 2 pm)
Thursday, Oct 29 6 – 11 pm (also 10:30 am to 2 pm)
Friday, Oct 30 6 – 11 pm (also 10:30 am to 2 pm)
Saturday, Oct 31 1 pm – 1 am $10 adults/$5 kids (12 and under)
Family pack: $20 for two adults and two kids (12 and under) Kids under 10 MUST have an adult present at the Orpheum (though adult does not need to go into the Haunted House)
Fear scale:
10 am until 6 pm = Casper (kid friendly)
6 pm until 8 pm = Frankenstein (parents useful)
8 pm until 1 am = Freddy (adults preferred)
All proceeds go to benefit the Prompting Theater and the Orpheum Children’s Science Museum.
You’re invited… to the Spooktacular Halloween Bash!

Join the Class Act improvisers for an evening of Halloween entertainment this Friday, Oct. 30th at Class Act Interactive Education and Events, located at 114 South Neil Street.
At 5:00 p.m. on Friday, doors will open for face-painting, Halloween crafts, candy, interactive characters and a special performance by the Conservatory of Central Illinois’ Suzuki-Roland violin students.
At 6:00 p.m. the Class Act Improvisers present Theatre Sports Halloween Style, and improv show that both kids and adults alike will enjoy.
At 7:15 p.m. storyteller Patricia Hruby Powell presents a few festive tales ending with Edgar Allen Poe’s, The Tell Tale Heart. Performances will become progressively scary throughout the evening.
Tickets will be $5 for pre-show activities, $5 for the show, and $8 for activities and the show combined.

Trick-or-Treat…Looking for a night of Halloween fun for adults?
Celebrate Halloween on Thursday, October 29th at Freaktini, a freakishly fun adult-themed Halloween party in downtown Champaign. Festivities will run from 5:30-11pm and include Hors d’oeuvres, cupcakes, food specials, raffle prizes, comedy by Zoo Improv, live music, tarot card readings, and a costume contest with cash prizes.
Buy your tickets in advance at Boltini or Cakes on Walnut. Tickets are $20 for the general public and $15 for students. All proceeds from the event will benefit A Woman’s Place, Champaign-Urbana’s only domestic violence shelter.
Participating locations include Boltini, Cakes on Walnut, Cowboy Monkey, Esquire, and Bacaro. Halloween isn’t just for kids! Come out and get your freak on at Freaktini! Costumes are encouraged, but not required. For more information go to www.freaktini.com.
