The Champaign Downtown Association will be putting on another Better Your Business Seminar on November 19th at 9 am at M2.

This seminar’s title being “Good Design for Better Business” is focusing on using design to better your business. Guest speakers are Maya Bruck and Miriam Martincic.

Bios:
Maya Bruck is co-founder and Executive Director of the Champaign-Urbana Design Organization (CUDO). A graduate of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Maya moved to Champaign in July 2008 after several years at a marketing and design firm in downtown Chicago. She is currently a full-time graphic designer at Wolfram Research, working primarily on Wolfram’s newly launched computational engine, Wolfram Alpha.

Miriam Martincic comes to design from fine arts. She has a BFA from Columbus College of Art & Design and an MFA from Ohio University. Her 8+ years of teaching experience have proved useful in communicating with clients and helping them to develop and define their design objectives. Miriam currently teaches drawing at Parkland College, works as a freelance designer & illustrator, and is a CUDO board member.

    This sounds like a great workshop – I’m the Program Coordinator for UI-7, the cable TV service at the U of I, and I actually was interested in this very topic! I made a video showing how the U of I campus is using Twitter… the people in the story are great examples of a variety of ways to use Twitter. Please feel free to use this video if you think it would add to the workshop!
